Our Mission

Bridge to Reality is a 501c3 nonprofit, whose programming, funding and support provides youth from underrepresented communities the opportunity to explore career paths within the arts. Through a tailored curriculum, select internships and one-on-one mentorship, Bridge to Reality promotes access to pre-college arts learning and professional development for youth of color.

VISION

How many professional actors does your high school student have access to? It can be hard wanting to be an award-winning playwright when you don’t know one. It can be hard actualizing your desire to be on television or direct a film when you don’t know anyone who has. When I was growing up, I didn’t know any professional writers, actors, or filmmakers and for the majority of high school students from inner cities with these types of aspirations, they don’t know any either. We intend to create another reality. One where the possibility of becoming an actor and having a mentor in the arts is just as accessible as a student who aspires to be a teacher. This is where Bridge to Reality steps in!

Bridge To Reality:

Amplifies youth voices and exposes them to career paths within the arts, such as performing, visual, literary, and media.

Our Services

A large part of the entertainment field is about access. Access to resources, people and knowledge that can help you advance in the field. Historically children of color have not had this type of access. Bridge to Reality aims to bridge that gap by pairing students with artists of color and giving them resources, skills and the access needed to make a career in the Arts a realistic option. This is accomplished through:

  • Mentorship of 9th-12th grade students from underrepresented communities across the country by industry professionals
  • Targeted skill development which includes resume building, text/scene analysis, and auditioning techniques
  • Free theatre tickets and backstage access
  • Opportunities to work on film sets
  • Internships and Externships

Our Founder

Aaron was born and raised in Plainfield, NJ. His passion was always acting but he never felt like it was a realistic option, as a result he went on to get a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Colgate University. After 9 years of working as an Information Assurance consultant for the government in D.C., the desire to act became too strong. Aaron applied to several grad schools and was accepted to Columbia University. He relocated to NY and obtained a Master’s of Fine Arts in Acting. Since graduation, Aaron has appeared on several Network TV shows, commercials and films.
